The managers were nice but seemed to be looking for someone with direct tech sales experience, and I was out of the running from the start. It was definitely not my strongest interview. Cheers to the recruiter for putting me forward, though he was pretty hopeless with follow-up. Gotta learn how to deliver bad news, it's literally the job and super bad for your personal brand as a recruiter. Nice enough guy.

It was three rounds total. Started with an initial screen, then a manager interview (who turned out to be the Chief of Staff), and finished with an executive interview (the Chief Sales Officer). The whole thing was extremely unprofessional. They seemed unprepared for every interview, were wildly underdressed, and one interview actually had someone else present instead of who was planned. The Chief of Staff showed up in a hoodie and was in the airport, totally disengaged. The Chief Sales Officer conducted their interview from a hotel room with interruptions from room service or a maid. I was distracted and put off by all of this. It felt like a very specific culture was at play. I stopped engaging in the last interview and didn't ask questions because it was clear they don't invest much in new hires and likely don't care about your success. I didn't get an offer, partly because I didn't ask questions in the final round due to being so put off. The CSO didn't even ask about my sales quotas, where I exceeded them by 200% and 121% in my previous years as an AE. Seriously, don't waste your time here.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a really smooth and fast interview process. It started with a recruiter phone screen, then I had an in-person interview with two sales managers, and finally, a 30-minute mock sales pitch with a VP. The leaders were super passionate and made me really want to join the company. You should definitely get ready for the presentation by digging deep into the 'mock company' and knowing Podium's products inside out (I spent about 4-5 hours preparing for it).
