Trust and Safety Associate
So the hiring procedure followed a structured four-step process. It started with a detailed questionnaire, then the first interview was with the hiring manager. After that, I had a second interview with the PS manager, and finally, the process concluded with a conversation with a representative from the HR department.
- Can you share your background in Trust and Safety?
Graphic Designer
I applied for a Graphic Designer role and was contacted three weeks later to schedule an interview. The interview was casual and involved an open-ended design project with minimal instructions and only their website as reference. I submitted three options to show versatility. A week after following up, I received vague feedback that my compositions didn't align with their vision, without any specific critique. I asked for clarity but got none. I then applied for another AI Art related role. I submitted a project on Nov 13 and didn't hear back until I reached out on Dec 4. Again, there was no confirmation or feedback on my project's success. I was told my submission was grouped with others and the reason for not moving forward was 'proportions', which was very general. I asked for specific feedback on my project but received nothing. It seems if you give a project to a candidate, you should at least provide feedback. This whole process felt disorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful, suggesting a toxic work culture.
- What was the single question they asked you?
Data Analyst
Applied for the job, went through an initial screening, and then was given a take-home assignment. Spent two working days on this assignment, even doing extra work to help them evaluate my project though it wasn't specified. After they reviewed it, I was rejected because they wanted the analysis to 'go deeper'. The job post was misleading about the seniority level; it seemed entry-level but they passed me for not having enough domain expertise, which wasn't mentioned in the post. This suggests they hire senior talent for entry-level roles and don't focus on developing hires.
- Tell me about your experience in data analysis.
Game Artist
I sent in my application and a few weeks later, I got an email from them. A few days later, we had a quick, friendly phone call where they told me about Highrise and what the rest of the interview process would be like, which involved an art test. So, I spent about 6-7 hours one weekend working on it, which was fine, and sent it in early the next week. After that, they went quiet. I followed up once and was told I'd hear back within a week, but that didn't happen. After more than a month, I figured it wasn't going anywhere and stopped thinking about it. Then, about two and a half months after applying, I got a short email saying the job was filled. The whole experience wasn't terrible, but I was hoping for some feedback on the art test, even just a quick note. The lack of communication and feedback, and the long wait time, didn't make a great impression.
- Do you know the game?
- Can you relocate?
- Have you used Adobe Illustrator before?
