Relationship Manager
A nice recruiter chatted with me for a while, then I had a more formal phone chat. They mentioned they like to use the STAR method for interviews, which means telling a SITUATION, TASK, ACTION, and RESULT, and they prefer you to use your own experiences instead of hypothetical answers. So, I thought about times I dealt with unhappy clients, cross-selling, or letting a client go, and felt ready. After that, I interviewed with the head of the division, which was also a pleasant chat where they used the STAR method. Now I'm waiting to meet with the local branch manager and a Regional VP.
- Can you share a time when a client was upset and explain how you managed it?
Risk Management
The whole thing took about a month. It started with a quick 15-minute HR call, just a 'sniff test'. The following week, I had a 45-minute call with the manager to discuss the internship, mostly behavioral stuff. Then, two weeks after that second call, I was invited for a super day in Pittsburgh. This was an all-day event with five 30-minute interviews back-to-back, with different people. You could chat with current employees in between. The super day was on a Friday, and I got a call that following Monday to let me know I got the internship.
- How do you tackle problems and what's your thought process behind it?
Risk Management
I applied through my university's job portal and got an email about a phone interview. I set it up for the next week. After that, a recruiter called me to invite me to a superday in Pittsburgh. The superday had three 30-minute interviews with different risk department teams. It started at 8am and finished by 2pm for all 30-40 candidates. They provided breakfast and lunch, plus a hotel room and rental car reimbursement.
- How crucial is risk assessment in current markets?
