The interview process moved quickly from the initial recruiter call to a second round with three team members. The interviewers were friendly and didn't pose overly difficult questions. I spent a lot of time listening and discussing my resume. There weren't many other difficult parts.

I applied for an AML/BSA Auditor job and a recruiter reached out. They said I wouldn't be interviewed for that role but they'd send my resume to their audit department instead. The recruiter also mentioned a new fraud team I might be considered for. The actual interview was pretty straightforward. Different audit teams explained their work and asked about my past experiences. When I asked about the fraud team, they told me it was announced the week before and I wasn't being considered. The whole process felt misleading and disorganized, like you don't even interview for the job you applied to, they just pass you to whoever they want. The interview itself was easy, with typical behavior and audit questions.

The interview process was pretty good, I met with managers from different audit areas. The problem was with the recruitment and offer stages. HR and management offered a salary of $62k for a Senior role, which was way below market. When I pointed out that I was already earning more than that, including benefits, at my current job, things really soured. The recruiter then asked for very personal information like my current deductibles, HSA details, and bi-weekly premium costs, which felt intrusive and potentially violated HIPAA. She also kept talking about 'Internal Equity' making up the salary difference, which I didn't really understand, but I was already aware of PNC's reputation for poor merit increases, performance raises, and promotions. Overall, it was a complete waste of my time, and their recruitment practices, especially the ethics and tactics used, should be investigated by compliance. I definitely won't work for PNC Bank.
