Program Coordinator
The interview process was pretty chill and felt like a conversation. I had three interviews total: first, a screening, then a virtual one with the hiring manager, and finally, an in-person one with several people from the hiring team. Everyone was nice and treated me well. They did offer me the job, which was great, but then came the salary negotiation part. I asked for a bit more than they offered, and they then asked for references and said they needed to think about it. Two days later, they told me they were rescinding the offer, mentioning salary expectations as a reason, and that they'd already hired someone else at the original offer amount. My references said they never got called, so I think it was just the negotiation. While I get that companies don't have to negotiate or wait, the way they handled it felt off and made me feel like they don't want candidates to ask for more. It was a pretty disappointing end to the process.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you had to handle conflict at work?
Business Intelligence Coordinator
I had a call with the recruiter first. Then, I went for two interviews on-site with different people from the team. Everyone was really nice and professional during the interviews. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview.
- Could you tell me about your experience using survey platforms?
- Can you share an example of a time when you had to juggle multiple responsibilities or tasks?
Trade Show
I met with two people who clearly didn't like one another. Then I met with one person and we spoke for about 30 minutes. After that, I met with the person I'd end up working under for about 30 minutes. They all seemed nice when I first interviewed with them.
- What are your typical interview questions?
Software Engineer
I had a phone screening, then spoke with a VP, and after that completed a technical take-home assessment (still waiting on the $500 they offered for it). Sadly, I got rejected after all that.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Could you walk me through your experience with previous coding projects?
