First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PMA Consultants.
Executive
It was pretty much the standard process here, just like at other companies. The interview was really direct, asking the usual stuff about my past work and experiences. Nothing too tricky or out of the ordinary. The people seemed really pleasant.
- What makes you want to apply for this position?
Proposal Writer
I interviewed for this role and went through 5 rounds. It included a panel interview and several one-on-one interviews. Each person I spoke with had a different take on what the job entailed, but they were all nice and let me explain myself and why I'd be a good fit. The big issue was that even though I was upfront about wanting a full-time remote job and they said it was okay, the offer was for an in-office role.
- Have you ever had to deal with a difficult situation with a colleague? How did you handle it?
Project Controller
First, there was a phone screen with HR. After that, senior leadership set up another phone interview to go over questions. I had interviews with different offices. One interview didn't go as well as the other. The good one felt like I made a great friend who could be a mentor, whether I joined the company or not. That interview was probably the highlight of my interviews this year!!! But, in the end, as they emphasized, the client will have the final say on whether you get hired. I'm not sure if the client will interview you or not, but I'm sure the person you had the in-person interview with will have a lot to say to the client based on that interview.
- Can you explain the concepts of free float and total float?
- Could you describe how you would explain the critical path to others?
- What are the characteristics of a good schedule?
Client Services
The hiring team was very professional. They sent an email with the requested interview time, and showed up on time and were friendly. The office space was clean and modern, with employees working diligently. People seemed happy at their jobs, with some having worked there for 19 years, suggesting they genuinely enjoy coming to work.
- Describe what your ideal job would be.
