You'll meet your regional supervisor locally who will praise your qualifications and the great pay. Then, you'll travel to Detroit or East Lansing where they'll inform you that the pay is actually quite low. You'll experience the local climate and undergo about a week of 'training,' which mostly involves writing reports for others. After this week, you'll return to your regional office and start working 60-80 hours per week for $30-32k annually, aiming to please management. You'll soon realize the goals are unattainable and you'll be tasked with writing 5-10 Phase 1 reports weekly without any recognition, earning only about $400-$500 per week.

I had an hour-long phone conversation and then another long chat. I didn't hear back for two weeks, even though they said they'd hire in three weeks. Then I got two tests from Hireology and Caliper, which didn't say what company they were for. I had to call five companies before I found out it was for them. It would've been nice to be told to expect them. I had to call back to confirm they got the tests. It's been about 5 weeks now, and they still haven't decided. They also don't return calls after initially contacting you.

The interview went smoothly at PM Environmental's main office. I spoke with a Regional Manager and an HR person. It was well-organized, they asked about 8 questions, which I think I answered well. After that, I asked them questions about the job and company. Both interviewers were really nice and helpful with my questions. Then, I took a 30-minute written quiz on computer research skills. Overall, it was a good experience, not harder than other interviews I've had.

The interview process was pretty easy. They asked me about my degree, my main accomplishments, and any tough challenges I've dealt with on projects before. They also explained what they expect from an Environmental Scientist I. I got the offer about two weeks later, but I ended up turning it down.
