First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Plus One, an Optum Company.
Exercise Specialist
There were multiple phases: phone screening, group clinical panel, and a group fitness simulation. Generally, if you do well in the phone screening, then you’re invited to join a clinical panel to showcase your knowledge of expertise. If all goes well, the last phase is to apply that information in a simulated group fitness class to determine fit.

The interview process was pretty quick and precise, depending on your timing for testing and onboarding. Overall, it was a good experience, and I loved working with the company, honestly. I just wish the pay was better. Again, it's a great company, and I also wish there was better room for advancement.

Health Promotion Specialist
It was a three-round interview process that lasted about 5 weeks. The first round was a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager. The second round involved a presentation where I had to pitch a wellness proposal for a large corporate client to a panel. The final round was an in-person interview with the client's point of contact and the hiring manager. I also had a separate 1.5-hour Zoom call with the hiring manager to discuss client goals and position ideas. This was a lot of work but typical. However, the issue was with the final round. I was told I was a finalist for the site leader role, but could only proceed if I accepted an offer for a lower-level, non-site leader position, which I didn't even apply for. This felt like a bait and switch and left a bad impression, as it wasn't a job I'd normally consider given my experience. It also eliminated any chance for salary negotiation or for me to fully assess the company before accepting. I'm unsure if this is standard for the company or the client's decision, but I'd caution others applying here about this possibility. Despite this, my interactions with the company weren't terrible, and I had a great relationship with the hiring manager. Just be aware this might happen.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
It was a formal process that moved quickly. It had three steps: a video interview with the hiring manager, a phone interview with the director, and then a video panel interview with management and the client director. They communicated well during the process, with detailed and timely updates. All the dates and deadlines for making a decision were honored. I was very impressed with the process at all levels. The hiring managers were very professional but also friendly.
