First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Plaza Construction.
Superintendent
Interviewed for the Superintendent role in the New York office. It was the second interview and I was hired. The process was quick and painless. The general foreman is a good and respectable super. I felt like I already answered this question, it kept prompting me to write more.
- Can you describe your past experience?
- What are your accomplishments?
- What are your career goals for the next 5 years?
Assistant Project Manager
So, it was a pretty standard interview process. I had a meeting with a panel where we talked about a project they worked on. We also discussed the skills and responsibilities associated with this role. They asked some behavioral questions too, like about my weaknesses and hobbies.
- Could you start by telling me a little about yourself?
- Can you describe a project you've worked on?
- What skills do you think are essential for this position?
Superintendent
I had an initial meeting with a VP for the superintendent role. He was really friendly and easy to talk to. We talked about my experience and the projects I've managed. The interesting part was when he asked for additional references, specifically from subcontractors I've worked with before, so be ready for that. I got a callback about 3 weeks later for a second interview, but I turned it down because I had another offer.
- Could you tell me about your weaknesses?
- What is prompting your decision to leave your current employer?
Project Engineer
I applied to Plaza Construction through an employee referral and had a single 1-on-1 chat with the Operations Manager. The interview felt pretty relaxed, mostly standard questions, and they shared some background on the company's history and work culture. I got the job offer the very same day over the phone.
- Can you introduce yourself?
