First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PlayStation.
Software Development Engineer in Test
Had a good time interviewing, the people were nice. They asked pretty tough behavior and technical questions, then some coding stuff. I think I did okay on most of it, but messed up the last coding task. Given the job market now, I'm guessing that's why they didn't offer me the job.
- What are your thoughts on API testing?
- How would you approach testing APIs using Postman?
- Tell me about automating API tests.
Software Development Engineer in Test Intern
So the interview was about an hour long, and it was a mix of behavior and technical stuff, they threw in one coding question. We started with me talking about the company for like 10 minutes. Then there was about 30-40 minutes of coding. It was Leetcode easy level. After that, we spent 10 minutes on behavioral questions.
- Can you tell me about the company?
- Do some string manipulation with a Leetcode easy coding question and try to cover edge cases from a user input perspective.
- Write your own test cases.
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
It was a pretty straightforward process. Started with one Technical interview, then went into 2 rounds with a manager and 1 more Technical interview. The coding part involved a LeetCode medium problem using common data structures. I was a bit surprised that the interviewer focused heavily on code syntax and ensuring the program ran without any compilation errors, especially given the time constraints of a coding interview.
- Could you discuss your experience with data structures?
- Tell me about your background and experience.
- Can you describe your technical experience?
