Behavioral Technical

I had an initial call with a recruiter from the US who did a great job selling the company and role. The first interview was with a Manager (covering), which was supposed to cover my CV and technicalities. However, the format changed, and the manager avoided discussing my experience to ask pre-prepared questions that felt AI-generated, like 'what do you think it’s the data challenge at PlayStation?'. The most technical part was asking 'if we have a classifier, for example, a decision tree, how do you train it?', expecting a simple explanation. The focus was immaturely business-oriented, not the technical excitement I anticipated, especially since they were looking for someone knowledgeable in areas like Transformers. The questions about AI's influence on work sealed the disappointing impression, given it's PlayStation.

So, first there was a quick chat with the recruiter, like 15-30 mins. Then, I had a 30-minute interview with the head of department, which was a mix of behavioral and technical stuff. After that, a 1.5-hour interview with a senior data scientist and a team lead. For that one, we had a couple of notebooks to work on during the interview. I was told there was one more interview, on-site, but I got rejected after the 1.5 hour interview because they felt I didn't have enough experience for the role.

Technical Behavioral

Had 2 rounds of interviews, each 45 minutes. First was a tech interview with the machine learning lead, then a behavior interview with the BI manager. The final round was a 90-minute interview with the hiring team. Overall it went pretty smoothly, and even though I couldn't answer some things, I still made it past the first round.
