First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Playrix.
Product Analyst
I applied online and they got back to me pretty fast, within a few days. First, I had a chat with HR, mostly about my background and my analytics experience. After that, it was a technical interview with the team where I had to do some SQL and Python tasks, which were pretty straightforward. They also gave me a case study to see how I'd analyze player behavior for a certain situation. The last step was an interview with the hiring manager. The whole process from applying to getting the offer took about three weeks.
- Can you outline how you'd set up an A/B test for a new feature in a game?
- Tell me about a time when your analysis directly influenced a product decision.
- What data visualization tools are you familiar with?
Unity Developer
Applied online and heard back in about a week. The initial step was a call with HR for standard questions on my background and why I'm interested. Following that, there was a technical chat with the team lead where we talked about my previous projects and I did some live problem-solving, focusing on practical tasks. The final stage was a brief conversation with the hiring manager. The entire process wrapped up in roughly three weeks.
- Can you tell me about a difficult bug you encountered and your method for resolving it?
- What's your approach when receiving code review feedback?
- What motivates your interest in Playrix?
Python Developer
We started with a quick technical chat with some of the team. They asked about Python's built-in data structures, async/parallel stuff, decorators, and just general experience. Then, there was a second technical interview which was a live coding session. It involved two algorithm problems that weren't like typical LeetCode questions, plus some SQL and terminal tasks.
- How would you solve the anagram problem without using the sort function?
- Can you complete these two algorithm problems live, which are not in the LeetCode style?
- Can you write some SQL queries?
Software Engineer
The interview process included an initial chat with HR, followed by an interview with the Tech Director. After that, there were several interviews with different teams, involving the Team Lead and Team Manager. It was pretty easy and standard for industry interviews. It's important to read the company culture & values page before the interview, because it contains answers for some questions about work approaches. The technical interview was mostly about data structures and algorithms, mainly data structures. There were also some abstract questions like how I would investigate and solve a particular technical problem.
- You get a crash report from QA. How would you fix it?
- Questions about advanced understanding of how program memory works.
- How would you investigate and solve this or that technical problem?
