First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Playland Park (NY).
Amusement Operator
The interview process was pretty straightforward and fast, starting with a phone interview and then moving on to orientation. The phone interview lasted about 30 minutes. I had to call the park directly to schedule the interview. So, if you don't hear back, don't hesitate to call them, it really helps.
- Tell me about your availability regarding hours.
- Describe some of the difficulties you encountered in previous jobs.
Cashier
You go into a room with lots of round tables and managers interviewing people one on one. If you do well, you go to another room to fill out tax info and sign papers to finish the application, then you get fingerprinted.
- Who would you be if you were a superhero, and what's the reason?
Games Attendant
Applied online and got an email a couple weeks later for a group interview at the facility. It mainly focused on how you worked as a group and if you could do basic communication. After passing the group interview, you get called into another interview with a group of 5 or 6 people. Here, you demonstrate if you are able to sell a product or make it interesting. If your group all does well, you are notified as a group that you are all hired. I do not know what happens if your whole group doesn't get hired.
- Given some objects, sell one to me, but don't use its real purpose.
EMT
The interview process is clear after the initial email application. They will schedule an interview for you. The interview itself takes about 1.5 hours to complete. They are very thorough and easy going, but also serious minded. Finding a good interview time can be tough though.
- Can you describe how you would handle various EMS scenarios specific to an EMT role?
- Demonstrate your knowledge of essential EMT skills.
- Explain your approach to problem-solving in an emergency medical context.
