First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Platte River Networks.
IT Systems Technician
I had a phone call first to discuss my skills and background. The interviewer, Kristyn, was nice and easy to chat with. Then, I had an in-person interview that was a panel with three people. The team was friendly and laid-back. It was easy to feel comfortable. The questions they asked were relevant, and the environment made it easy for me to be myself, which helped them see if I'd be a good fit. It's a really great company. The interview was wonderful, and I would've loved to work there. But, I got an offer in another area that I took before they could make an offer for this role. If I were to work in IT, Platte River would be my top choice!
- How do you keep your IT skills up-to-date?
IT Support
The phone interview was uncomfortable because the interviewer used dry and sarcastic humor, which felt insulting. During the video interview, the same interviewer made a rude comment after I asked if quality is valued over quantity. They said, 'well first off, I would smack those headphones off your face if you gave me poor notes.' This comment was disturbing and rude. The interviewer's tone was condescending and seemed uninterested in what I had to say.
- Can you describe your most challenging day at work?
Account Executive
I met with the VP of Sales and then the two principles of the firm. The VP of Sales interview was basically an interactive discussion about my background and my approach to selling. I think he was looking for a cultural fit as much as sales background.
- What was it about Platte River Networks that made you want to apply?
- How would you approach your sales objectives?
- And how would you go about improving the company?
IT Systems Technician
I applied and then got an email from HR to set up a phone screen. It was about 45 minutes long. After that, I got contacted to schedule a video interview. Three people interviewed me on MS Teams for about an hour. Then they told me about the next steps.
- Can you tell me about a tough situation you faced and how you managed to get through it?
