They went deep into TPM, SPC, and quality control, wanting real-world examples. It also included behavior questions, FMEA, and control plan implementation. The interviewer was really pushing on continuous improvement experience and asked for specific examples. The interview felt tough and very detail-oriented.

The interview process started with basic questions, followed by an interview with the manager which went well. The manager indicated a potential move to a director interview. Despite two follow-up attempts for an update, which were met with promises of a soon response, an automated rejection was received two weeks later. This outcome might be for the best, considering the demanding 45-50 hour work week, below-average salary, and mandatory 5-day in-office policy. The manager appeared stressed during our interview, suggesting it might be a role to avoid.

So I talked to the facility manager and shift supervisor. They mentioned they had a lot of openings. I got the feeling they were trying to get the most out of their employees for the least amount of pay. Even though they called ME for an interview, I was told I'd have to go through a temp agency. The pay is $12/hour for 12-hour shifts. The work schedule alternates between 3 days one week and 4 days the next. Every six months, the shift schedule flips from day to night or vice versa. As a material handler, job duties include shipping, receiving, inventory, stocking, and forklift operation.

An external headhunter contacted me. The process involved several calls, a meeting with senior management, and a final meeting with the board of directors for the local subsidiary. The entire process felt very professional and lasted approximately 5 weeks. The work environment seems good, though senior management stressed that it's a high-pressure, multitasking role. Ultimately, the company chose a candidate with less experience, primarily due to differences in the compensation package.
