First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Plasma-Therm.
Technician
First, there was an interview with HR, then a second interview with the managers. It's a welcoming company, with a strong technical focus. The recruiters are quite smiley and curious.
- What interested you in the job posting?
- What are your interests?
Manager
First interview was over the phone with the manager for the position. Second interview was with multiple employees that would interact with the position plus HR. Did not receive any communication after the second interview.
- Tell me about your past experience with directives you've implemented.
- What experiences do you have with problems we are currently facing?
Mechanical Engineer
The interview had 4 people, each for 30 minutes. They asked questions separately. The last interviewer was HR, and the others were project managers and engineers from the team. It felt a bit unorganized, and one interviewer was very serious.
- What would be your approach if I disagreed with your suggestion, and how would you persuade us to adopt your method?
- Can you explain how one might study the trajectory of a bullet fired from a gun?
- Could you elaborate on your resume?
Process Engineer
I had a 30 minute presentation about the company's services or products. Then I had 30 min interviews with some of the team members. The CEO was really nice and responsive. Some things I thought were a little weird though: they didn't offer a lab tour, which I thought was odd because seeing the work environment helps decide if you want the job. Also, they didn't cover all my travel expenses and didn't tell me beforehand that reimbursement would be taxed with a W-9. Lastly, they ignored my requests for updates.
