The interview process started with an HR chat covering basic salary and behavioral questions. Then, there was an interview with the lead for product development. This was followed by a presentation of a functionality and idea, which seemed to be a way to explain and possibly get ideas. The overall interview was pretty straightforward, though it was a bit odd that all the scientists seemed to be from non-food backgrounds.

The interview process was super smooth and simple. I ended up having three interviews with people at different levels in the company so I could learn more about the company and the role. They made sure to address the job requirements, and the whole thing was timely with good communication throughout and in between interviews.

Behavioral Technical

It was a really worst interview experience. They started with a phone screen round where I had to talk about myself. After that, they gave me an assignment to work on and create a presentation. They gave feedback at each step and seemed to like it, but during the presentation and briefing of my ideas, they rejected it and sent a rejection email without any reason.

I asked about a position a few levels below mine and if they were looking for someone more senior. They said yes, so I scheduled an intro call. During the call, one person asked about my experience, and I asked about the company. The first person seemed new and couldn't answer in-depth, so someone else joined to take over. The call was about 45 minutes, and they said they'd discuss it and get back to me. I sent a thank-you note the next day and followed up a week later but never heard back, even after a few months. It was unprofessional and disrespectful to waste my time like that for their small startup.
