First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PlanMember Financial.
Service Center Representative
The interview process is pretty long, usually about 4-6 hours and you'll meet with up to 5 people, including the COO. They really want to see if you can handle the 3-year Securities Industry Training program. A college degree is usually needed, but they're really flexible on what you studied. You'll likely start the day with the recruiter, then chat with the Director of Platform Trading, the Service Center Manager, the Director of HR, and finally, the COO.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
Software Engineer
Got contacted via my university's career services. The first interview was pretty standard, just general get-to-know-you questions. What I didn't expect, maybe cuz I haven't interviewed much, was that the HR person who set it up emailed asking to set a specific time for that initial phone interview. That felt super professional and respectful of my time since I was already working. The HR person also went over benefits, retirement stuff, way more than I thought they would on a first call. They asked about my salary expectations upfront, and then we set up a second interview with another HR person. There were three HR interviews in total before I talked to the person who'd be my direct boss. That interview was tough, the interviewer really zeroed in on all my weak spots. I figured they did their homework to find those. After that, I had a Skype interview with my future manager and a final phone interview with another team leader. So, six interviews in all: 3 HR and 3 job-related. Then it was just finishing up the paperwork. It took a while, but it was really thorough and showed they really wanted to find the best person for the job.
- In a dark room with only a pen, what are five uses for it?
Transfers In Specialist
The interview process was pretty thorough and professional. First, I had a phone call with the Recruiting Coordinator, just to get acquainted. Then, we set up an in-person meeting via email. I met with the Director of Operations and the Recruiting Coordinator. They asked me to talk about my resume and how my experience could be applied to the job. We also discussed my expectations for the role and my familiarity with some of the day-to-day tasks. They also inquired about what I look for in a company. Their questions really showed that the company is serious about finding the right fit and wants to make a positive impact, not just fill positions. At the end, they outlined the next steps and mentioned that another interview might be necessary after internal discussions.
- What kind of company culture are you looking for in a workplace?
Suitability
The interview process was very friendly, and they're looking for self-motivated employees. It started with a phone interview, followed by two insight interviews with the manager and consultants. Everyone was friendly, and the dress code was business casual. The manager wanted to see if they could work well and professionally with the candidate.
