I sent in my application online and waited about a week. I then called to follow up and was told they would review applications that week. Since I had experience with their system from a previous job, they invited me for an interview with the assistant manager. A few days later, I interviewed with the General Manager. The regional manager conducted the final interview. After getting the offer, I completed a background check, provided ID and social security card copies, and registered for an online training course.

I got a call around 9:30 A.M. asking if I could come in for an interview today, and I said yes. They told me to be there at 2:15 P.M. I left my house at 2:00 P.M. since the gym was only 5-7 minutes away. When I arrived, the gym was still under construction, but a man directed me to another suite in the shopping center where the interviews were being held. It seemed to be a place for early specials before the gym opened. I was greeted by two people upon entering. One was with a client, and they told me to sit at a table. My interviewer arrived shortly after, and I gave her my resume. I had applied in September through an online posting, then again in October for a more general position. The call was for the latter. She started by asking if I was in school. I said yes, but I had taken a semester off and would restart in January, which meant my hours were flexible. She asked my age, and I said 19, which was good since I needed to be at least 18. Then came the questions that made me nervous, starting with 'Why Planet Fitness?' I hope my answer was good. The interview lasted about 3 more minutes and ended as quickly as it began. It was amusing because I had left my house 15 minutes before the interview, and given the short travel time, I arrived over 5 minutes early. The interview actually ended right at 2:30 P.M.

The managers were out of town, so I had an interview with a manager from another location who was filling in. He asked me a few questions and decided I was a great candidate. He said one of the regular managers would call me when they got back. It turns out they don't hire people under 18 at this location, and I was 17 at the time. They didn't tell me this until I called them.
