I called the store back to schedule an interview after listening to their voicemail. The girl on the phone was vague about the time, just saying 'whenever' and that she'd be there 'til seven. When I arrived, the girl at the counter asked if my name was ____, which it wasn't, and then I met the interviewer who seemed really young. She asked questions that seemed googled, reading them like a robot, and didn't seem to care about my answers. She dominated the conversation and often gave disapproving looks and comments like '...oook' when I responded. She shut down my interests and career goals with a condescending attitude, even after I shared my past accomplishments. It was rude and unprofessional how she spoke to me, almost like she was testing my reaction to pressure, but it was just intimidating and unpleasant. I wouldn't have taken the job anyway, and she made it clear I wasn't getting it, saying my personality was better suited for another location. Unlike most professionals who would confer with a team, she was very direct and unprofessional. I have a lot of retail experience and references, but she made me feel like I was interviewing for my first job. She also mentioned that staff pick outfits from the merchandise, wear them, and put them back on the floor if clean, which is pretty gross. I won't shop there again due to their lack of cleanliness and how they treat people. They didn't even call to say they went another route, and their job postings are still up.

This was one of the worst interviews I've ever had. My interview was scheduled for 12:30 PM, and I got there at 12:20. They were running late and I waited about 15-20 minutes. Two women came out and didn't seem to know I was there. We went outside and they only asked a few questions that didn't relate to my past job experience. I didn't realize I needed to know about high-end brands, which was my mistake. But I think if they had asked about my actual experience, it would have gone better. The interviewers were condescending and judgmental, and I felt really uncomfortable the whole time. The interview was less than 10 minutes and ended with them saying, "Okay, I think we're done here." Just a heads up, you really need to know about high fashion and current trends, or they won't take you seriously.

The interview process was pretty standard. I went to their Santa Monica HQ and talked to three people. What wasn't standard though was how they ghosted me after the interview. They didn't even bother to email me a rejection. I emailed them to see if a decision had been made and got nothing back. If a candidate takes the time to interview and send thank you notes, don't they deserve a simple rejection notice?

The first interview was with the recruiter, then I had an interview with the Store Manager, and the last interview was with the Director of Stores. I got the offer on the same day as the last interview.
