The interview process was pretty solid, with a mix of technical questions and rounds to check for culture fit. Overall, it was a good experience. There were 4 rounds in total. The first round was technical, the second involved an assessment, the third was a case study presented to higher management, and the final round was a technical and cultural fit discussion about an assignment.

Behavioral Technical Case

I was contacted by a Pixis recruiter for the Director position, and we set up an interview. They missed the initial interview and I had to reach out to reschedule. In the rescheduled interview, the recruiter presented a different role than what was initially discussed, with a lower title and salary in a different field. Although I was annoyed, I decided to hear more about the new opportunity and agreed to interview with the manager. The manager showed no interest in my background, instead asking me hypothetical scenario questions. At that point, I was uninterested and provided minimal responses, knowing I wouldn't have accepted the offer. A tip for the recruiter: be better informed about your company. Different people gave me conflicting information about office locations in the US.

I got ghosted after the second round. The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and I applied. The interviews were remote. Round 1 was Front end and felt a bit easy. The interviewer kept their camera off but asked me to turn mine on. It felt more like an interrogation than a conversation, and they seemed rushed. They asked basic JS questions about object freeze, prototyping, Promises, React memo, and re-rendering in parent-child components. Round 2 was Backend and tougher. Questions started based on my resume. The interviewer was responsive and it was a two-way conversation. We discussed microservices, how I've implemented them, and the algorithm in Elasticsearch. I was also asked to solve a DSA problem, which I didn't fully solve. The interviewer also brought up CTC and expected CTC, which I thought was an HR topic. They gave feedback on areas to improve. I never heard back from HR and was ghosted, even after following up. I wouldn't recommend this company.

I found the job on LinkedIn and applied. The HR person was in India even though the job is in the US. Scheduling the interview was a nightmare because the HR person didn't understand time zones and messed up the schedule, so I had to move my other calls. The interview felt like the senior leadership was just bragging about themselves. You could feel the toxic vibe. They said they'd get back to me in 3 days. Like usual, I followed up with the HR for feedback but got no response, totally ghosted. It's clear there's a lack of respect, even during the interview process, regarding scheduling and keeping candidates informed. I took time to interview, so at least have the decency to let me know if I'm not selected.
