I applied for a role at Pixalate and was contacted, but the recruitment process was frustrating. The initial HR interview felt like a checklist, which was a bad first impression. It got better with the hiring manager, who was professional. However, the final HR interaction was bad. After being told I got the job, the offer was poorly explained regarding compensation (base vs. all-inclusive) and benefits. This was unprofessional for a senior role. After asking for clarification and renegotiation, I waited over 10 days for a generic rejection email. The delays and lack of alignment showed they didn't value my time. Pixalate needs to improve communication, transparency, and alignment to respect candidates.

It started with an HR interview, followed by meetings with the CEO, CTO, and VP of Engineering. The process felt standard. I inquired about the company culture, and while they mentioned 'happy,' it didn't come across that way. The CEO was approachable, but the CTO seemed keen on extracting information, making it feel less like a get-to-know-you session and more like an information-gathering exercise. The questions were quite unusual for a Product role, focusing heavily on technical aspects as if they were exploring how to replicate my past work. They weren't asking typical behavioral questions.

My interview experience wasn’t great at all. Firstly I didn’t receive confirmation from HR that the date I suggested for my first interview would go ahead until 20mins beforehand after continuously reaching out for them to send confirmation and a meeting invite. After a successful 2nd stage I was asked to attend a 3rd interview with a week in between the 2nd and 3rd stage. The evening before my 3rd interview (due the next morning) my meeting was cancelled and then an email sent saying that they had offered the role to another candidate. Highly unprofessional as I had spent time preparing for the interview!

First, you gotta fill out this super long questionnaire with some pretty random questions. Then, there's a long interview. The CEO was really interesting and seemed genuinely interested. It was a really positive experience overall. I would've taken the job, but they just ghosted me after.
