It was a pretty straightforward interview process, not too difficult. There were three interviews in total. The first was to see if I was interested in the role. Then I had a one-on-one with my direct manager. Finally, there was a panel interview with eight people from the Conservation Education Department, including the VP of Education, three Education Managers, and four other Senior Education Specialists.

Went to a job fair in late January and then got a call back about a month later for the position. The interview was at the zoo, but I had trouble finding the building. First, I filled out a paper application and then we waited to be interviewed. After the hiring process, there was an orientation day focusing on people skills, which was important since we'd be working with kids and their parents.

I submitted my resume, cover letter, and transcript to the department. A few weeks later, I met with a staff member who I would be working with. They gave me a virtual tour and explained the expectations for the role. Later that week, I was sent the typical background check and other required documentation for the position.
