I first chatted with a recruiter and then the hiring manager in early December, and it seemed promising. They said I'd get a response within two days, but that never happened and my follow-up email was ignored. I figured that was it, but then in late January, they reached out again saying they wanted to do an in-person interview. I gave them my availability for the following week, but again, no response. I emailed to see if they were still interested, and they asked for another week of my availability. That week also passed with no word. I decided to stop pursuing it because if scheduling an interview is this difficult, I can only imagine what working there is like.

I got referred for the position, but then heard nothing from Pitchbook. The person who referred me eventually let me know my application was rejected without any explanation. This is not a good way to do business, but thankfully our relationship is fine. I don't mind being rejected, but not even getting a call or email is terrible.

It was a two part interview. First, it was a remote call with the hiring manager and another engineer going over basic technical skills and then a simple java coding question via an online IDE. The next stage was an on-site interview that took about four hours in five different sessions. Everyone I met was pleasant and fun to talk with. Pitchbook values culture a lot and it was evident in the interview process.
