Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PitchBook.
Customer Support Specialist
This was the most bizarre recruiting experience. I felt like my time was wasted by the recruiter. I had an interview scheduled for the following week but several days before, I received an automated email stating the role has been filled. Very inconsiderate given that an interview was already on the calendar. Candidates invest time and energy into preparing for interviews, a personalized message would've been respectful due to the fact.

The interview process involved three rounds of interviews and a take-home test prior to the final stage. I had a good initial interview, and the second one was a bit more challenging, as anticipated, but I managed to get through it. Unfortunately, I received a rejection after submitting the take-home test. Regarding the take-home test, a critical piece of advice is to avoid using PitchBook's support to see how their actual support staff responds, as many candidates do this, and the recruiters will notice, leading to disqualification. The test questions were somewhat vague, so it's crucial to ask your recruiter any and all questions you have. Although I believe I provided correct answers, the formatting was not to their liking, which was quite disappointing given the many hours I invested in the test. Aside from that, the recruiter was pleasant, and the interviews were generally as expected.

The interview process was great. They were fast and fair throughout the process and everything was clear from the beginning until the end. No tricky questions, not trying to confused you or similar. A lot of respect and fairness. The first part was an email from the recruiter. After that, the phone call where you discuss your experience, what are you looking for, they ask you very regular and normal questions and not confusing ones. Very fast you know if you are going to the next stage. The next stage was with an interview with Team Lead and a Manager to whom you would report to. Also very nice, pleasant and fair interview and questions with the clean instructions and explanations. Also, very fast you know if you are going to the next stage. The last part was an assessment about their tool. Very cool tool. You need to figure the tool out, complete the task and after that to reply to customers' inquires. I found the assignment very interesting. After the assignment, you either get the offer or not.
- Following an initial recruiter email, a phone call was conducted to discuss your experience and career goals, featuring straightforward questions and a swift notification regarding advancement to the subsequent stage.
- The subsequent stage involved an interview with the Team Lead and the Manager you would report to, characterized by pleasant interactions, fair questioning, and clear instructions, with another rapid notification of your status.
- The final stage required completing an assessment involving a proprietary tool, which included understanding its functionality, performing a task, and responding to customer inquiries, after which an offer was extended or declined.
