Had a few phone and video calls with HR and the hiring manager. Also had some homework to do, which involved responding to a customer email. The staff were nice.

I got a phone screen, and then they wanted me to come into the office for an interview. This is where things got messy. I'm a passive candidate and have a full-time job in CS, so scheduling usually needs to happen fast, and this interview was going to take up half my day. The recruiter gave me one time and parking info, but didn't ask about my availability. I emailed her back with times that would work that week, but she didn't reply. A week later, she emailed again asking me to schedule, and I gave her a time that worked well. The day before that, she emailed 'great see you tomorrow,' but without confirmation, my calendar was already booked. I apologized and suggested a new time the following week. She waited another week to email back and confirm the new time worked for her. By then, I had a bad impression from the disorganized recruiting and declined to come in, though I thanked her for the opportunity. Your recruiters are the first impression of PitchBook for potential hires – make sure they're treated well, and they'll return the favor.

The interview process started with a phone interview, followed by a 2-hour in-person interview, and then an interview with the VP. I found the process to be more conversational than a high-pressure Q&A. The interviewers had great personalities and were keen to know me, which made me feel comfortable. Since culture is really important at PitchBook, I'd suggest being your authentic self during the interviews.
