First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PitchBook.
Customer Success Associate
I got contacted by Pitchbook for this Customer Success Associate role. The first interview happened and I was shocked to hear the base salary is only $50k with an OTE of $85k. For context, I was already making $50k right out of college as an SDR, and I think any associate-level role should be making at least $65k in this economy. Because of this, I turned down any further interview rounds. However, the initial interview stage was pretty standard. They did ask a question about what's most important to me in a job, which I thought was a thoughtful touch.
- What are the top 3 things that matter most to you when you're deciding on a new job or company?
Customer Success Associate
The interview process at Pitchbook seemed disorganized and lacked communication, though the company culture appeared fun and young. It involved 3 phone interviews and 2 onsite interviews, with 4 people in each onsite. The process began in late May and lasted about 2.5 months. Despite receiving an offer, there was confusion about my decision timeline, leading to an assumption of decline. There were also instances where recruiters missed scheduled follow-up meetings after the onsite interviews, with unprepared employees attending instead. Although PitchBook has a strong vision for future growth, the offer was not competitive.
- Could you present your current company and explain why a client would choose your services over a competitor's?
Customer Success Associate
The recruiter and scheduler were really responsive and nice, and they gave me good information. They asked a lot about why I'm interested in this industry, which I didn't expect, so I'd suggest looking into that. I didn't get to meet the team, but I found the company interesting and the people were impressive.
