First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PitchBook.
Director of Business Development
I spoke with the VP of Sales and then the CEO. It was a very simple process.
- Tell me about your interest in this role and company.
- What do you think of our company's value proposition?
- Describe your business development experience.
Business Development Associate
Applied via my school's career website, and they reached out via email to schedule a phone interview. I was abroad then, but they were super accommodating. The second interview was supposed to be via Skype, but we did a phone call again instead, and the MD joined. After two phone calls, I got hired. It was competitive with dozens of applicants.
- What knowledge do you possess about our company?
- What are your goals for this internship experience?
- Could you share your relevant previous experience?
Business Development Manager
The interview for the BDM role was very thorough. They covered background, work experience, technical, and soft sales skills. You need to be ready to talk about the private markets a lot and explain what a PE firm does.
- Can you describe what a typical day in your current role involves?
