So, first there was a recruiter call, then a technical screen. After that, I had four rounds of interviews. Two were one-on-one with scientists, and the other two were panel interviews with groups of 3-4 people. Each interview was about an hour long. They also gave me a tour of the facility. It was pretty nerve-wracking, but if you're good with behavioral questions, you should be fine.

I had a phone interview that lasted about 45 minutes with one of the Breeders. I talked about my academic background, my Master's research, and the kind of work I'm looking for. It felt pretty casual, and I think he was trying to see if my personality and science background were a good fit. Soon after, I got an email inviting me to the station for an in-person interview. There were 3-4 people there, but only one or two actually asked questions. The process concluded with a background check and then an offer.

I applied online while I was out of the country. The interviewer was nice and waited for me to return. They called me over the telephone for some general questions about my interests and techniques. Then, the very next day, I was called in for an interview. It was with 5 people, each from a different background, and it lasted for about 3 hours. I was exhausted afterwards! I got the job offer about a week later. The whole process from the phone call to joining took about 2 weeks.
