Had an initial call with the recruitment team about my skills, experience, and salary expectations. Then, I had a call with the head of engineering where we discussed behavioral and some technical aspects, as well as my experiences and skills. The head of engineering mentioned they enjoyed our discussion and would let the recruitment team know about the next stage, but after that, there was radio silence and no replies even after I reached out multiple times.

Since I was applying from Australia, all the interviews were done over Zoom. The process started with a recruiter screen, followed by a cognitive and personality test. Then, I had an interview with the SRE Manager and was subsequently given a take-home project. After completing the project, I faced a panel interview with members of the SRE team. Overall, it was a positive experience with friendly people.

Ping has a very thorough interview process, not for the timid, but it shows they're looking for top talent. I was contacted by a recruiter in Halifax who thought I'd be a good fit. The first interview was a conference call with the department Director and some of his team. It was pretty laid-back, with a lot of technical questions. I moved on to a timed, video-recorded skills test. You have a set amount of time to answer several skill-based questions, mostly math-related, which get harder as you go, so it's okay if you don't finish them all. There was also a standard behavioral test asking about how you'd handle different situations. Next up was the most exciting part: Ping gave me access to a cloud provider account to build a small application infrastructure. It was challenging but fun. After finishing, I had to "defend" my design and solution approach, expecting to be questioned on any weak spots. Lastly, they indicated they'd make an offer. Ping HR sent links for background checks. The whole hiring process took about 4 weeks, but each step followed quickly after the last.
