Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ping Identity.
Sales
The interview process was entirely remote. It had multiple phases. I first spoke with the recruiter, then had several interviews with the hiring manager, a senior sales leader, another manager, and some peer sales representatives. We also met for lunch during the hiring manager interview.
- Perform a role-play exercise focusing on discovery.
- Let's do a mock sales call to see how you'd uncover a client's needs.
Sales Representative
The interview process was good, maybe too good to be true at times because they ended up lying. I had around two or three phone interviews. Then I had to complete an assessment. After that, I met with the team manager. They mentioned there were two openings and gave me a lot of hope. But then, the rug was pulled out from under me because I had high expectations of getting selected. I found out through a phone call from America that the two openings became one, and only one job offer was being made. Overall, the people who interviewed me, both on the phone and in person, were very nice, but somehow not as straightforward and honest as they say in the US.
- Can you tell us what Ping does?
Sales
You apply online and then they tell you to take a CCAT & Personality test before you meet anyone. There's no human contact. You pass, and you move on. You fail, and you get an automated email. While you're taking the test, they want to access your camera and mic so they can record you. It's super invasive. The worst part is that a CCAT test doesn't help with Sales at all. Sales is all about personality. Great sales people ask questions, listen, and find solutions. Figuring out the next square in a pattern means nothing. It's a terrible process, so disconnected when they're trying to hire people.
- Which square comes next, based on the examples provided (multiple choice)?
- Given that John is 4" taller than Tom, and Nick is 4 years older than Tom, and Tom is Nick's brother, who is taller than John?
