Customer Success Manager
The interview process was a bit messy. I was initially told it would be 2-3 interviews, but it turned out to be 4. It started with a recruiter call to cover the basics like logistics, pay, and background checks. Then, there was a high-level, conversational chat with the VP of CS, which felt more like me asking questions for 45 minutes rather than a structured interview. The third round was with a principal CSM, and honestly, it was a terrible experience. He was rude and unprepared, seemed annoyed I pointed out his mic was muted, and didn't know basic company info or answers to my questions about KPIs, account health, or churn reasons. He also gave conflicting information about the training period. My next interview, thankfully, was the opposite – a good conversation, and I learned the training is 6 weeks, not 3 months as I'd heard before. I thought that was the last one, but they said there'd be another. I tried to follow up with the recruiter for next steps but was ignored. After the fourth interview, I just got a generic rejection email with no feedback.
- Can you describe how you manage your book of business?

- What are the primary reasons for client churn at this company?
Customer Success Manager
The whole thing was over zoom. First up was an initial chat with HR that lasted about 30-60 minutes. After that, I talked with the hiring manager for about 60-90 minutes. Then, I met with the marketing director, VP, and one of the current CSMs, each for about 30 minutes. It was a great experience and I really got a sense of the company culture at Ping. Everyone was really open and honest, and they kept me in the loop about what was happening next.
- Can you describe a time you dealt with a particular situation?
- How did you manage that specific situation?
- What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Customer Success Manager
So I sent in my resume and then got an email to do these 2 assessments - one was like a thinking test and the other a personality one. I wasn't expecting much, but then 2 weeks later, they called me for a phone interview. It was a quick chat, like 15-20 mins, mostly about my experience, especially at my last job, like how big it was and the team size. After I followed up a few times, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with me.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a challenging customer?
