Plumber
Had a quick chat with the recruiter about my background and what I bring to the table. Then, there was a written test covering plumbing skills and safety regulations. Finally, I got to ask questions and meet the team.
- What makes you interested in joining our company?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
It was a bit uncomfortable, but I went through with it because I needed a job. This was a role I could easily do. However, the interviewer kept bringing up my supposed lack of recruitment experience, even though I have 4 years. They also wanted to know the exact salary I had earned in all my previous jobs. I was a bit taken aback when they started discussing discrimination and mentioned that one of my parents is Portuguese. The interviewer came across as quite sexist and made an awkward comment about me seeming like a "fiery" lady. I was relieved I didn't have to compromise my standards and wear that awful uniform. When I asked for feedback, I received a generic email.
- Are you okay with discriminating against people with foreign accents, given that we don't hire them?
PR and Communications Manager
Applied via Indeed and got a message from the recruiter. Sent an email to confirm a time, no response. Sent another message confirming a time for our call, and the recruiter finally responded with a timeframe between morning and afternoon. During the call, I spoke about my experience. Then I had to be onboarded onto the recruitment system so the hiring manager could view my details. At the end of the call, I was told they'd get back to me either way. It's now been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing.
- Could you provide an overview of your work experience?
- Do you have experience in copywriting?
Accounts Apprentice
My friend worked in Recruitment and saw the Job Advertisement for my role, so he recommended me to the Pimlico Recruitment team. I then went to the Sun Roadshow in Stratford. I was interviewed by the Recruitment Manager, met some of the team, completed some interviews from the Sun Newspaper and was offered the job.
