First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PIMCO.
Administrative Assistant
There were 2 rounds for the contract admin assistant role. The first round was with the direct supervisor and a Senior EA. The second round was an in-office interview with the regional managers, supervisor, and the person you are going to cover. The full-time position has a longer process and takes a very long time to hear back.
- Can you tell me about who you've supported in previous roles and what specific tasks you performed for them?
Administrative Assistant
I went through 3 interviews for this role. The last one was rescheduled at the last minute, even though I had already rearranged my schedule for it. The SVP in the third interview was really rude and condescending. I'd also seen some negative press about them involving former employees suing. The first two interviews were fine, with nice people, but the third one really soured me on the place. To top it all off, they never officially let me know if I got the job or not after stringing me along for about a month. I guess I dodged a bullet though, because admins there are basically temps without benefits and it sounds like promotions are really hard to come by.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to handle conflicting demands and priorities?
Administrative Assistant
I had a 10-minute interview with one person, then three women who are my bosses interviewed me together for 15 minutes. I really suggest you prep your interview answers because I did that and was glad. They asked about handling a lot of phone calls.
- What would you do if a trader's headset wasn't working, they were upset, and needed you to fix it immediately?
- Can you handle answering a thousand phone calls a day?
