Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pima Medical Institute.
Instructor
The interview process was really thorough and professional. First, I had an in-person interview with the Program Director. Then, there was a second interview that included a teaching demonstration where I did a 30-minute lesson on gastroenterology procedures. It was well-organized, and I liked getting to show my medical knowledge and teaching skills.
- How would you prepare lessons to make sure students understand both clinical and classroom material?
Instructor
They aren't seeking seasoned professionals but rather aim to fill vacant spots rapidly. The questions focus on your availability, not your expertise. It appears they're hiring fast to get someone in quickly.
- Are you able to be available on short notice if a class cancellation occurs and arrive by the scheduled start time?
Instructor
I had two interviews for an instructor position back in 2015. Things went pretty smoothly, and I felt like I really got to show what I'm good at. They were really nice and understanding people. I also got to team up with an instructor who's already been doing the job to show off my practical abilities.
- Can you share details about your previous work experience?
- Could you elaborate on your leadership capabilities?
- How do you manage your work when facing deadlines?
