First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pigment.
Software Engineer
The interview process began with a phone screen. They asked me the Gilded Rose question, which involved a bunch of if else statements. I had to explain the code and then refactor it within 45 minutes. We also talked about my past projects and what I do at my current company.
- Review and refactor the Gilded Rose problem
Senior Software Engineer
The interview included a recruiter screening, followed by a refactoring exercise, then a Leetcode exercise, a system design interview, and finally a Founder/CTO interview. You can use your preferred language for the coding portions. The first coding task was a straightforward refactoring, and the second was a Leetcode medium problem. They communicated well throughout the process and provided feedback on why I didn't pass.
- Could you discuss a project you were involved in, highlighting both its successes and difficulties?
Software Engineer Intern
The hiring process was smooth and quick, with a friendly and highly supportive recruiter throughout. I received insightful feedback at each stage, which helped a lot. The process consisted of 3 rounds, including 2 technical interviews, that was challenging, but I think it's a modern approach to conducting interviews.
- Could you walk us through one of your side projects?
