They asked about my long term goals. When I answered, they asked again as if they didn't believe my first response. It felt like they wanted people to put company needs before their own values. I thought it was a bad way to do things.

I applied online for a specific store and then got a call from a manager at a different store. We had a phone chat where they asked me some questions and then set up a 1:1 interview for the same day. I got there early, but the manager wasn't ready on time and I had to wait. They also didn't have a copy of my resume, so I gave them one. The interview was about 90 minutes long, with a lot of scripted questions. The manager seemed very serious and didn't show much personality. I found it hard to stay awake because they talked so much. In the end, they said I had good experience but seemed to have low energy. They then set up a second interview with another manager from a different store, but I decided not to continue with the process.

I met with a Store Manager who asked me a series of questions designed to determine my ability to handle workplace difficulties and customer service issues. For example, how I would handle seeing a co-worker stealing. Also, what I would do if a customer was unhappy with her service. I was also asked if I had ever dealt with an unhappy customer and how I resolved it. Then I had a second interview with the District Manager who asked similar questions. He also gave me a tour of the shop and explained some of the terms.

  • Have you ever had an employee steal before?
