We talked about how the store runs day-to-day, from when we open to when we close, and how everyone on the sales floor works together. Also covered how to deal with customer problems, using the POS system, managing seasonal changes, and asked about my strengths and weaknesses.

It was a normal interview, but it was a bit weird since it was a group interview and everyone gave the same answers. The hiring manager was really focused on getting the assessment to work, but it wasn't working at that time.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I got a call back about the job pretty quickly, within a week. First, we did a phone chat where they hit me with the usual stuff about my past jobs, customer service skills, and what I learned from my last role. Then, since I passed that, they had me come in for an in-person interview the very next day. That part involved me and the manager doing some role-playing on how I'd help and give advice to customers about different things. They also had me put together what I thought was the perfect sunroom using the store's furniture, then walk the manager through my choices, explaining why I picked each piece and what it brought to the room by itself.
