Pico Interview Questions
& Process

It was a pretty straightforward interview process with a few rounds. I first had a call with the recruiter, then the next round was with the hiring manager, followed by two more rounds with the team.

Had one telephone interview with the team lead that was about 30 minutes and included some basic technical questions. After that, there were five or six face-to-face interviews with several people: the team lead, the senior manager for network and datacenter services, another senior manager from a different team, the HR manager (not sure why they interviewed me), and then the managing director for EMEA (also not sure why). A lot of these interviews were focused on checking my attitude towards working at Pico, rather than testing my actual knowledge. I also had to submit a drug test.

I applied online and got a call back for an in-person interview. It started with a quick phone call with HR. Then, I was invited to meet the team in person. The interviewers didn't follow the schedule they sent via email; they came in a different order and some weren't even supposed to be there. Some interviews were in groups of two, and one group was really rude, making side comments and talking amongst themselves while asking questions. The manager seemed interested, but the others appeared disengaged. They mostly asked about my past work experience, not many technical questions. I was disappointed by the unprofessionalism and lack of follow-up, not even getting a response about whether they're moving forward. It felt like a small firm trying to cut costs by taking on business from larger banks.

First, there was a quick 20-minute call with HR to screen you. After that, a 30-minute call with the Operations Manager. Finally, a 2-hour in-person interview, which was actually four 30-minute interviews with different team members. The whole thing usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks.
