Senior Software Engineer
The interview had two rounds for the senior front end developer role. The first round covered concepts related to React, hooks, web socket connection, the event loop, and async programming. The second round involved creating a custom hook to fetch API data for different components and asked about the difference between class and functional components.
- Can you introduce yourself and talk about your company and project details?
- What's the difference between class and functional components?
- Could you create a custom hook that fetches API data for various components?
Software Engineer
I applied online and a recruiter reached out to set up a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. Then, I had to set up an onsite interview that had 4 parts. Two parts were technical deep dives into my past projects. One part was a coding challenge where I was given some code and asked to fix it or add to it to meet certain requirements. The last part was a chat with a senior manager about technology and industry trends. I got an offer, but a few days before starting, they told me the position was closed because of financial issues. Super unprofessional, I didn't know what to say.
- Mostly discussions about tech stack and experience.
- The coding question was lengthy but not difficult.
Software Engineer Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. Started with a behavioral interview asking why I wanted this job. Then, there was a technical round where I had to solve data structure problems involving things like binary trees and recursion. Overall, it went smoothly if you had the right knowledge.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What are your technical skills?
- Why did you apply for this position?
