First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phoenix Contact USA.
Cyber Threat Hunter
The entire interview process spanned over 3 months, from application to job offer. The HR representative was excellent. There were 3 interviews in total, which were pretty relaxed, especially for a cyber role. The final interview involved presenting a project to a panel of 4 people. It was thorough and allowed for deep dives into topics as much as I wanted. I really enjoyed showing off my skills and my personality during this part.
- Could you tell me what you know about Phoenix Contact?
Project Manager
Interviewing for a potential project. Two directors did the interviewing. Basic questions were asked to determine knowledge of the PMI process. Questions were oriented to determine if you were more of a "PMI says X, so we have to do it this way" versus a more pragmatic approach practitioner who would tailor the methodology. Did a tour of the facility and some background on the company prior to the start of the interview. They were eager to show the robotic picking machine.
- Can you describe your experience with projects that involved implementing SAP?
- Would you still be interested in this role if we chose to implement a different ERP system?
Product Marketing Specialist
Phoenix usually starts with a 1:1 with your potential direct supervisor. If they like you, you'll move to a second round with 2-4 more people, including your supervisor's boss, a team lead, heads of relevant departments, and your potential supervisor again. Interviews can differ but are generally relaxed and friendly due to the company's laid-back culture. They don't use standard question sets, so be ready to discuss your skills, how you can help the team, your pros and cons, and why you fit the company culture and role. My best advice for interviewing here is to chill out. They're pretty chill and value calm, smart, positive people. They really care about personality fit, so watch how you answer – some questions might be designed to test you. My internship showed me how important personality is for them; it's rare to find a huge company with such a positive, employee-focused vibe where almost everyone smiles and greets you.
- What are some of your qualities that would greatly help our team?
Sales Apprentice
The initial phone chat with HR was pretty laid back and I actually enjoyed connecting with Ryann. They shared a good amount of info about the company and what the job entails. I'm now in the middle of the second round of interviews and I appreciated that they sent over an agenda beforehand. It laid out the schedule for the company presentation and my own one-on-one chats.
- What are you looking for in an organization?
