First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phoenix Children's.
Audio Visual Technician
I talked with the manager and director. They asked a bunch of technical questions about my past experience. We also talked about my degrees and certifications, and how I could use what I learned and contribute to the company.
- What technical skills do you have?
- Tell me about your degrees and certifications.
- How will you use your learned skills here?
Registered Nurse
The interview process involved a lot of questions asking for specific scenarios, like "tell me about a time when you provided great patient care but the patient was still not happy despite your efforts." They also asked the usual basic questions, such as strengths, weaknesses, and to tell me about myself.
- Tell me about a time when you provided great care that you felt could be improved upon.
- Why did you choose pediatric nursing?

Patient Care Technician
So I applied a few weeks ago and didn't hear back for a while, so I called HR to see if someone would get in touch. Not sure if that helped, but a recruiter eventually called. They asked a bunch of easy questions about my nursing goals, what kind of work I'm looking for, my experience, and what I'm studying. I mentioned I have friends who work there, which I think was a good move. You should definitely be ready to explain why you want to work at Phoenix Children's. After that call, I moved on to an interview where they asked similar questions to the recruiter.
- Can you describe a challenging patient interaction and how you handled it?
- What motivates your interest in this specific position?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
