First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Philipp Plein.
Store Manager
The interview process was really fast and pleasant, decision was took within a week. There were 2 steps. We mainly talked about my previous experience, there were few questions about KPIs.
- Can you describe a challenging situation you faced with your employees and how you resolved it?
- Tell me about your previous experience.
- Do you have any questions regarding KPIs?
Intern
The interview process was really quick. I hopped in a zoom and was asked a few questions about myself and my experience. Later they followed up and told me I got the job.
- Can you tell me about your background and previous work experience?
Sales Associate
I had an online interview for the role. The interviewer was incredibly rude throughout the entire process. She was unfriendly from the start, not even a proper greeting, and immediately began asking questions. The questions were very generic and seemed to have no clear purpose or relevance to the sales associate position. Based on other comments, it seems the interviewer might not have been from HR or experienced in conducting interviews. When I asked my questions, she didn't provide helpful or pleasant answers and even stated there were no growth opportunities available. This information, combined with negative reviews about the company's culture and past discrimination accusations, makes me strongly advise against applying here.
- What emotions or feelings does our webpage evoke in you?
Fashion Designer
The interview process started with an external recruiting agency (2 Skype calls), then moved to an in-person meeting at the Lugano office. I was asked to prepare additional creative materials (beyond my portfolio, which already included a spontaneous proposal for new collections) for September (the interview was at the end of July). Two days after the interview, I was told the outcome was very positive and I should go to Cannes to meet Mr. Plein at his home on August 15th. I declined because this immediately made me realize that their demands were not compatible with a life that includes more than just work. The person who would have been my manager started the interview by asking if I was in a relationship and warning me that working for them could seriously compromise my personal relationships.
- Tell me about your experience managing stress during collection preparation, your availability for night and weekend work, and your readiness to travel with short notice.
- How do you handle stress when preparing a collection, and are you open to working nights and weekends, as well as traveling on short notice?
- Regarding stress management in collection preparation, night/weekend availability, and last-minute travel, what can you share?
