Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Philip Morris International.
Business Analyst
The hiring process was pretty long, with four parts: first, a chat with HR, then an online test, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager, and finally, an interview with a manager and a director. Just so you know, the recruiter wasn't the most helpful or responsive person.
- Can you tell me about your data analytics experience and the tools you've utilized?
- What tools have you used for data analytics?
Business Analyst
I applied online and got a call from HR. Then there were some online logic tests. About a week later, I had a 60-minute interview.
- The first part had theoretical questions focusing on understanding database management and schemas.
- The first practical questions were about DAX coding, where I was given a simple dataset and asked to perform basic calculations.
- Later, the DAX questions became more complex.
Business Analyst
Applied through Linkedin. After the application period ended, I got an email with a link to schedule an interview. I picked a date, but the next day they emailed me again saying that date wasn't available and I had to pick another. This happened 5 times in total, with dates being rescheduled each time, even though I gave them very flexible availability. We finally had the interview 3 weeks after the first contact. It was an in-person interview with 3 pleasant people. The questions weren't too difficult, and they made me feel comfortable. They said I'd get feedback within a week. After a month, I finally got a negative response, with an apology that the HR person was out of office. I had to follow up twice to get any information, as I was left completely in the dark. If someone's going to be away for a long time, they should at least let candidates know and manage expectations.
- Tell me what you know about our company.
- What made you decide to apply to PMI?
- What about this role caught your attention?
