It was mostly behavioral, with lots of discussion about my past experience and how I work. The only technical part was a fizzbuzz question in Golang, which involved writing and building a Dockerfile as part of the solution.

Technical Behavioral

I went through about 4 or 5 interviews with the team and it seemed like a good fit. However, the last person I spoke with seemed to really dislike me, which was obvious. It was weird because he wasn't someone I would have worked with directly, so I didn't get why he was even part of the process. The team was quite odd too; most of them had no prior healthcare experience and didn't really understand the industry. They were slow to follow up, and after almost a week of silence, I had to reach out myself. Then they told me I wasn't what they were looking for, which was strange because everyone kept saying, "You're what we're looking for in a candidate." Overall, it felt very unprofessional.

I found the job online and a recruiter emailed me the very next day to schedule an initial phone interview. The recruiter gave a brief company overview and asked me some questions that related to the job description. I thought it was going well until the end when they asked if I had any questions. I asked one question, and the recruiter's response was a bit rude, basically saying, 'Whatever the job descriptions says is what we need.' This was different from other recruiters I've spoken with who usually respond positively. About three hours later, I got an email saying they were moving forward with other candidates.

I spoke with an Engineering Manager, then a Co-Founder. The third interview was with another engineering manager who seemed to think I was a UX designer just because I mentioned liking UI and had a Figma icon on my desktop, despite my 13 years of programming experience and a resume full of jobs. He really pushed the UX designer idea. They had me do a last-minute code challenge where I had to write vanilla JavaScript to loop through a table. I finished it and even showed other work from my current job. The interviewer said I did well. I sent a thank you email, and about two hours later, they told me they were moving on with other candidates. I emailed back asking for feedback on what I could have done better, but never heard back.
