Sales
The interview process was straightforward as expected. It involved typical interview questions.
- Can you explain your reasoning?
- Describe a situation you encountered.
- What makes you interested in this role?
Executive Assistant
I applied for the 2nd Executive Assistant and Office Assistant position online and interviewed with Krish Menon in December 2010. The whole process took about 2 days. Krish's EA set up the interview and was there the whole time, and I also had a follow-up meeting with Krish the next day. Krish asked standard questions about my background and goals. He really dug into why I was interested in marketing with my neuroscience degree and why I didn't pursue neuromarketing research. He also asked about my lifestyle, mainly to see if I could be available whenever needed, including late nights and weekends. Krish explained the job's demands and responsibilities, and how I'd need to handle many things at once. It was my first real interview after college, so I was nervous, but Krish was very professional and kind. He was upfront about the workload, but I felt good about it and was excited.
- Why are you interested in marketing, and why not neuromarketing given your background?
- Are you available to work weekends if the job requires it?
- What's the reason for you leaving your previous employment?
Executive Assistant
I was first contacted by the in-house recruiter. We had a phone call where we talked about my background, my interest in the industry and the role, and the company. The job was advertised as one with room for growth and a great chance to learn about advertising. Then, I went to the Phenomenon offices for a 20-minute interview with the CEO, Krish. He asked about my work history, my advertising ambitions, and my lifestyle. He explained the position was very demanding and would need a lot of personal commitment and sacrifice due to the 24/7 connectivity required. I was looking for an unconventional and challenging job with rewards for hard work, and this EA role seemed like the perfect fit. I got the offer and started in April 2015. I was Krish's EA for nearly two years, sitting in on all executive interviews and training new EAs. After almost two years, I moved into the strategy department.
- What draws you to the advertising industry?
- Which department are you hoping to transition into?
- Could you describe your personal life and how this position might impact it?
Brand Manager
The process was quick and easy. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. I interviewed the next day, negotiated the day after, and got my offer and accepted on the fourth day. The team asked questions about my experience, and the recruiter was responsive and helpful.
- Can you describe the top three strengths you would contribute?
- What are your three greatest strengths you can bring to this role?
