First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phenom.
Product Manager
I interviewed with Phenom in December and mentioned I might be moving, but they said it was fine. After a recruiter call and 3 interviews, I got an offer. When I confirmed I might move and couldn't guarantee hybrid work, they rescinded the offer because they wanted local hires. In March, the recruiter contacted me again about a product manager role. I told them my situation hadn't changed and I needed to be remote. They assured me remote was okay now. I spoke with the hiring manager who confirmed it could be remote. Then I spoke with the VP I'd met before, who asked only about my ability to come into the office weekly, even though I'd said I no longer lived near Philadelphia. After that, they ghosted me, even though I followed up. There was a clear internal miscommunication, and despite my transparency, they put me through the process twice and then ghosted me.
- Can you share an experience where you guided a product from its inception to launch?
- Would you be able to work in the office three days per week?
Product Manager
The company is building cool AI stuff, which is great. But their hiring process in India needs work. They don't seem to support candidates much, like with interview prep. Sometimes salary expectations come up really late. Also, they'll say the interviews are one way, but then add more interviewers later without saying why, which is confusing and makes you wonder about their hiring structure. They should improve their internal hiring to match their product innovation.
- Can you elaborate on your experience, specifically your domain expertise, process clarity, and how you manage your journey?
Product Management Director
I was referred so my process might be a bit different. First, there was a recruiter screen. After that, I spoke with the hiring manager. The last two interviews were with the CEO and COO. It all happened in about 3 weeks, and I was really impressed with how quickly the executives could fit me in. The scheduling tool they have is super easy to use and usually had openings the next day.
- Can you describe a time you were involved in building a product and walk me through your process for doing so?
