Account Manager
Started with a recruiter call, then had a 45-minute online sales knowledge test. If I passed that, I met with the VP (hiring manager). It was mostly general "get to know you" stuff. I was a bit let down by the lack of rigor given the company's focus on "Talent Management Experience." After talking to the VP, who seemed to want to move forward, I got ghosted. I tried reaching out a few times professionally but got no response. It seems like this might be common based on other reviews for a similar role.
- Do you know Phenom's market and who their competitors are?
Account Manager
I first spoke with the company's recruiter, who was a pleasant person. Following that, I had a meeting with one of the hiring managers, and he was also quite decent. The next phase involved three separate interviews with three different people. The first interview went really well, especially since I have over 10 years of experience in the SaaS HR industry, which I knew would be valuable to them. However, the second interview with the next person is where things took a turn for the worse. The hiring manager was incredibly rude, exhibiting toxic behavior and employing mind games to try and trip me up on questions. Despite his passive-aggressive meanness, I stayed calm and collected. While I enjoyed meeting the other interviewers, his behavior led me to decide not to proceed with the hiring process, and I opted out of the final interview. I informed the recruiter via email, politely declining further participation due to the toxic environment I encountered.
- Can you describe your typical daily tasks?
- Tell me about your Key Performance Indicators.
National Account Manager
It was all video calls. Started with a screening call with the internal recruiter, then I had about a dozen 1:1 video calls with different team leaders over six weeks. The process felt disorganized and confusing, with many interviewers asking the same kinds of questions that didn't seem very related to the actual job. The managers were nice, but most seemed new and didn't have a clear structure for how the team operates or plans for the future, beyond just 'hitting the number.'
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Why are you interested in Phenom?
- What is your history with quota attainment?
