First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pharos Academy Charter School.
SPED Teacher
They interviewed me for about 10 minutes. I mentioned that I wasn't interested in being a SPED teacher anymore, and they pretty much wrapped up the interview. Thankfully, because I've heard some really bad things about this school.
- In what ways does TFA support your development as an anti-racist educator?
Substitute Teacher
The interview process was great, not rude at all. They asked the necessary questions. It was a smooth and not awkward interview. I’d happily return for substitution work. The kids at Pharos are respectful and engaged.
- Describe your ideal working environment.
Teacher
Two phone calls that were very chill and conversational. The conversation was geared toward how much you enjoy working with kids and professionalism and work ethic. They want to hear how passionate you are and how much you care about children.
- What made you become a teacher?
Teacher
I had a zoom call with a recruiter. She was nice and asked good questions. First, she let me talk about my experience. Then she asked teaching-specific questions. The call was recorded.
- Tell me about your lesson planning process.
