Submitted an application and then was called for an interview. We negotiated the contract. The person who interviewed me was very nice and pleasant. She explained the next steps in the process and the approximate start date. I interviewed one month and negotiated the offer the following month.

Behavioral Technical Case

It started with a 45-minute phone screen from an outside recruiter. The interviewer was nice and the questions were fair and relevant. Then I had an hour-long phone interview with my would-be manager. He was also nice, fair, and direct. The questions were about my experience, knowledge, and interest. After that, I was given a sample budgeting task to complete in a few days. I had to build a hypothetical budget in Google Sheets based on given parameters. Finally, I had a one-hour phone interview, again with my would-be manager. The questions were still fair, but more in-depth, and included two hypothetical scenario/case study questions. Overall, it was a pleasant and positive interview process.

Technical

A recruiter reached out to me about a grant writer role, and I agreed to interview after talking with them and learning about the company. The first stage involved a substantial writing assignment where I had to draft answers to what seemed like past grant questions. This took me about 16 hours in total, covering research, technical writing, and the usual grant writing tasks. After submitting, I waited. Eventually, the recruiter let me know I wasn't moving on. I was surprised and a bit humbled, but I saw it as a good chance to get feedback on my submission. I thanked the recruiter and asked for feedback, but they replied that the person in charge wouldn't provide any due to the high number of applications. This felt really disrespectful. It's frustrating when organizations expect candidates to put in days of work on writing tasks without offering any feedback on their decisions. I regret the time I spent interviewing with them and stopped working with that recruiter because of this.

I applied for their Salesforce System Admin position. The interview process involved three rounds, a take-home project, and providing 5 references. Unfortunately, I received a generic automated email stating they had selected another candidate. It was a bit strange to put in so much effort and time without receiving any feedback, especially since they reposted the job shortly after.
